Tena koe te whanau
We can't really tell you that much about the kuia. Aunty Haana and Aunty Dolie from Tukorehe were having a look around in a secondhand shop, and both saw this kuia sitting on a shelf for sale.
Our aunites felt aroha for this kuia and didn't want her to be left in the shop or, sold to someone who wouldn't appreciate her. They decided to buy her and bring her back to their marae at Kuku.
Maybe someday, some manuhiri will happen to see her in our tupuna whare on display and say " Hey, that's my kuia!" and then take her back home.
We hope that as many others may see her photo on the website and come to Tukorehe to get her and take her home (not that she is not welcome in our tupuna whare)
